Improving the food Security, Incomes and Nutrition of Women-Led Families
Smallholder farmers are encouraged and practiced to agroecological farming system, livestock husbandry (Goats, Swine, Cows and Buffaloes) and income generating activities and shrining the experiences with local government agencies.
Women members establish mutual proximity in the community and improve food security through cultivating various value added fruits and vegetables, herbs, and generating income, stall improvement programs with financial, technical and educational support and guidance. They participate in various educational, exchange and exposure visits.
Every year, farmers establish home nurseries to produce different types of nutritious fodder grasses around and cultivating them in their fields to provide nutritious grasses for their livestock in order to improve income, nutrition and productivity.
Saving and credit programs enhance women empowerment for decision making in household and community matters. In addition, women do not need to depend financially for enrollment of children in school, health care, begin small scale business for economic growth.
Women groups’ members are encouraged and supported to improve their income providing skills for entrepreneurship and business technique.
Local marginalized communities are encouraged and supported to start small, learn lessons and multiply the impact along with the farmer-to-farmer process.
