  • Mr. Bharat Bista

    Bharat Bista volunteers as a president of BBP-Pariwar as well as Samaj Sewa Samuha (Partner organization of BBP-Pariwar). Bharat has over 50 years of experience working in Nepal to improve the well-being, food security, and livelihoods of marginalized people, particularly women and so called socially excluded (Dalit’s) people living in remote areas. Bharat has two years of experience as a schoolteacher. He holds a diploma in organic vegetable farming and poultry chicken from the PHD Foundation in Kobe, Japan, and has participated in various agricultural trainings.
  • Mrs. Shanti Basnet

    Shanti Basnet volunteers as a Board Member of BBP-Pariwar. Shanti has over 4 decades of experience working in Nepal to improve the wellbeing, food security, and livelihoods of marginalized people, with a focus on women and socially excluded (Dalit’s) people living in remote areas. She had volunteered a member of Nepal Agroforestry Foundation (NAF) and Alternate Development Action Group (ADAG). Shanti holds a certificates in Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from the Tribhuvan University as well as various rural/community development trainings, agro-ecological trainings. She also had participated in a three-month Agricultural Development Training in United Kingdom.
  • Mr. Chudamani Nepal

    Chudamani Nepal volunteers as a Vice President for BBP-Pariwar. Chudamani has over 15 years of experience social services in Nepal to improve the wellbeing, food security, and livelihoods of marginalized peoples, particularly women and so-called socially excluded (Dalit’s) people living in remote areas. He also served as the chairperson of ward no. 4 of Chautara Sangachowkgadi Municipality, Sindhupalchok district for 5 years. He is an advisor to the Janahit Rural Development Committee. He has a high school diploma.
  • Mr. Bishnu Pratap Khadka

    Bishnu Pratap Khadka volunteers as a treasurer for BBP-Pariwar. Bishnu has over 40 years of experience in social services in remote parts of Nepal. He has contributed to improve the wellbeing, food security, and livelihoods of marginalized people, particularly women and socially excluded (Dalit’s) people living in remote areas. He volunteered as a secretary at Mahankal Health Centre for 20 years and taught for three years. He holds a certificate of secondary level.
  • Mr. Ramkrishna Chapagain

    Ramkrishna Chapagain serves as a secretary on the Board of BBP-Pariwar and as secretary in Samaj Sewa Samuha (partner organization of BBP-Pariwar). Ramkrishna has over 35 years of experience working in Nepal to improve the wellbeing, food security, livelihoods, health of marginalized peoples, with a focus on women and so-called socially excluded (Dalit’s) people living in remote areas. He has a certificate in Intermediate of Arts form the Bihar Intermediate Education Council in Patna, India.
  • Mrs. Mina Deuja

    Mina Deuja Serves on the Board of BBP-Pariwar. Mina has devoted over 34 years of her career to improve the wellbeing, food security, health and livelihoods of marginalized people, particularly women and so-called socially excluded (Dalit) people living in remote areas. Mina has 11 years of working experience as a clinic in charge in Mahankal Health Centre. Mina has participated in various trainings, including Women for women, Traditional Birth Attendant, Norplant Training, IUCD Training, HIV/AIDS voluntary counselling and testing, COFP counselling, and Tuberculosis modular training. She holds a certificate of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife.
  • Jit Bahadur Tamang

    Jit Bahadur Tamang serves on the Board of BBP-Pariwar and as President in Nauling Health Service center (Partner organization of BBP-Pariwar). Jit Bahadur served as a ward member of Melamchi municipality ward no nine for five years and worked as a technician for two years in a Fund Board Nepal Project through Samaj Sewa Samuha. He holds a certificate of secondary level.

  • Mr. Thomas L. Arens

    Tom L. Arens is one of the founding members of Friends of Nepal Pariwar and currently serves as the Foundation's Chair of the Board, along with four other volunteers. Tom worked at World Neighbors' regional office in Nepal for 27 years as the South Asia Area Representative before retiring. He had previously served as a US Peace Corps Volunteer and regional staff member in India.
  • Mr. John Carr

    John Carr is founder of Boudha Bahunepati Pariwar Project and currently serves as an advisor for BBP Pariwar. John is a male nurse from United Kingdom (U.K) who came to visit Nepal in 1971 and devoted his entire life for improving the Health, wellbeing and livelihoods of poor, Marginalized peoples and so-called socially excluded (Dalit) people living in remote areas. In 1979 John played a significant role in the establishment of Boudha Bahunepati Pariwar Project and served as an Advisor for the project. John also played a significant role and took the initial step for the establishment of BBP Pariwar
  • Mr. Gopal Kumar Nakarmi

    Gopal Kumar Nakarmi volunteers as one of the advisors of BBP-Pariwar. He has been involved in overall project management and has led participatory program development, implementation, assessments, evaluation, and training. Mr. Nakarmi has over 40 years of experience working in remote communities of Nepal to improve the wellbeing, food security, and livelihoods of marginalized populations, particularly women and backward community people including so called Dalit, living in the remote, hilly region of central Nepal. He has also supported a number of INGOs in raising funds and provided advisory services to nonprofit and financial organizations. He holds a Master’s degree in Public and Business Administration from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal and a Certificate in “Change Agent” from Asian Health Institute, Nagoya, Japan, and a Certificate in “Development Studies for Aid Administrator” from Selly Oak Colleges in Birmingham, England.
  • Mrs. Saraswati Gautam Bista

    Saraswati Gautam Bista volunteers as an advisor of BBP-Pariwar. Saraswati has over 42 years of experience working to improve the wellbeing, food security, health and livelihoods of marginalized people, particularly women and so-called socially excluded (Dalit) people living in remote areas, as well as three years of experience working as a staff nurse in Jaleshwor Hospital and Bir Hospital. Saraswati has participated in various trainings, including nutrition service, clinical skill training course for trainers of the comprehensive family planning course (COFP), administrative management and evaluation, Health and Sanitation, Family Planning Services, Paramedical Action, Planning and Management of Health Center, trainers training on responding to Reproductive Health Needs, and Women, Gender and Development organized by various national and international organizations. Saraswati holds a certificate of Diploma in Public Health Nursing from Lady Reading Health School, India and a certificate of Medical Science Nursing from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.

    Works with the partner organizations to provide health services for around 20000-24000 peoples in a year especially for women of rural area and is organizing the medical camps for women health issues and also is providing scholarship for the formal agriculture, animal health, ANM (Auxiliary nurse midwife) education with an objective of providing service to the community and to uplift their economic status.
    By conducting the health camps for women diseases (like cervix cancer, eyes, teeth, throat, family planning, reproductive health) every year BBP Pariwar is providing the special health service for around 1100 women's in a year.
    With the help of BBP Pariwar, farmers are able to produce and use liquid manure, organic pesticides, organic manure, compost manure, vermicompost etc in their field to maximize the production and to avoid the consequences from the use of the chemical fertilizers in the soil and human beings.
    Women members of the groups are able to establish mutual proximity in the community and food security through the cultivation of various value added fruits and vegetables, herbs and are generating income through the help of the livestock husbandry like goat, swine, cow and buffalo, stall improvement program with the financial, technical and educational support and guidance of BBP Pariwar and also are participating in the various educational tour in order to be capable of managing them in well manner.
